Keeping Horses Content This Winter

by admin on Jun.20, 2009, under Uncategorized

The thermometer is starting to plummet and the snow is forecasted for the end of the week so it’s time to take the last steps of preparing for a winter turnout. Horses are made to withstand cold weather and do quite well in 20F weather. It has been shown that horses are healthiest when they are outside for at least part of the day in comparison to being kept in the padlock all winter long.

There are a few things that do change during the winter season to make allowances for the colder weather.

Make sure that water is always available. When the temperatures dip down ice can form on the water troughs. If this is an ongoing problem where you live then an investment in a water heater or an automatic pasture waterer will do the trick. It’s always a good idea to keep an eye on how much they drink, since although they require water, their thirst drops off in the winter.

A shelter is important on cold windy days. A roof with 3 sides is the best because it covers every angle the wind can come in except the front. It looks like an oversized bus shelter. It’s essential to remember that horses will require more food during the winter months. This is because it requires more energy to stay warm. Increase the amount of hay. Since it takes longer to break down, hay endures longer which in turn provides more long term heat.

Supplements are also a high priority in the cold season. A very effective supplement is TAHITIAN NONI® Equine Essentials. It supports the equine immune system with superior antioxidant activity as well as promotes proper feed digestion and nutrient absorption. The cold winter air tends to dry out hair and skin but the TAHITIAN NONI® Equine Essentials combats this. If you have a horse with joint problems there is a sister product called TAHITIAN NONI® Equine Essentials FlexTM that has had great results.

Here is a tip for beautiful sunny days when the light is reflecting that it is almost blinding. Use the fly masks. It cuts the glare. They are also handy on really windy days especially if your horse has ever had problems with his eyes.

You have to admit there is something beautiful about horses running in the snow. Call this recent Influenza whatever you want; Mexican flu 2009, or North American flu it is a spreading illness

by admin on Jun.20, 2009, under Uncategorized

It does not matter what you call the illness; Mexican flu, or Swine flu; it will not change the harm this outbreak will have on the human population.

For simplistic purposes following the established pattern that the world has been using we will call this new virus the Mexican flu the same way that these Influenza outbreaks have taken on a locality name such as Spanish Flu, Asian Flu, Hong Kong flu etc.

Due to the world wide spread of the Mexican flu and deaths in 2 countries in the same region, the World Health Organization raised the phase alert to pandemic level five. This level indicates that the W.H.O. believes the growth of the Mexican flu to infect the world is imminent.

For your safety you should read the following W.H.O. Checklist:
World Health Organization (W.H.O.)
Department of Communicable Disease
Surveillance and Response
Global Influenza Programme
WHO checklist for influenza pandemic preparedness planning.  Starts out with “Some time in the future.”  (Note: that some time is now!)

In a Presidential News Conference about the Mexican Flu, April 29, the president is asked “if the we should close the border?”  President Obama says, “Wash your hands, take precautions but because this is a new strain we have to be cautious, but not to panic.”  He does not think we should close the border.

An agent who was a member of the security advance team for President Obama’s recent trip to Mexico is believed of having contracted the Mexican flu and he passed it on to his family in Anne Arundel County, MD.  The man is on the staff of Energy Secretary Steven Chu, who traveled with Obama to Mexico on April 16. He appears to have transmitted the flu to his wife, son and nephew, press secretary Robert Gibbs said.

Just the talk about and inability to agree on how to properly call the pandemic of the Mexican flu 2009 shows that even this little item will cause controversy around the globe today.  The hardest part of the Mexican flu of 2009 is still ahead of us.  We hope that the governments of the world get their acts together and concentrate on what is important, saving human lives.

Traditional vs. Contemporary Wedding Music

by admin on Jun.20, 2009, under Uncategorized

I’ve been to a lot of weddings, and pretty much all the music I’ve heard during all those ceremonies falls into one of two categories: Old Reliables and Oh My Gods.

You know the Old Reliables: Mendelssohn’s wedding march, Wagner’s wedding march, from “Lohengrin,” I think,  Pachelbel’s Canon in D, Bach’s “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” and the unfortunately titled “Air on a G String,” and “Ave Maria,” primarily.

Once in a great while you’ll get a slight variation on those . For instance, the wedding march from Mozart’s “Marriage of Figaro.”

At one wedding I attended, the bride walked in to the tune of “Pomp and Circumstance,” which was a tad incongruous except for the fact that they’d both graduated from
college earlier in the day. At another, the bride walked in to “Spring” from Vivaldi’s “Wedding Party Songs“ Four Seasons,” which would’ve been fine except that it was about 18 degrees outside.

One nonclassical work that has wedged its way into the Old Reliables is “The Wedding Songs” written by Noel Paul Stookey of the folk group Peter, Paul and Mary. The Baby Boomers got into it because it was written by one of their own, and the Baby Boomers’ parents didn’t object because at least some of the lyrics are biblically derived. Either that or Stookey bribed an awful lot of wedding planners.

But in the modern era, straying beyond Stookey’s opus is likely to lead you quickly into the land of “Oh My God.” These are the selections that cause you to cringe, slump in your seat, blush for the happy couple, think, “What were they thinking?” and try desperately not to make eye contact with any other guest lest you both burst out laughing.

There was the wedding where the bride marched in to John Denver’s “Annie’s Song.” No, her name was not Annie.

There was the bride who came in to “I Can Only Imagine,” which, arguably, would make more sense at a funeral. I don’t know how many weddings I went to in my teens and early 20s that featured the Carpenters’ “We’ve Only Just Begun,” which struck me as wholly appropriate for the wedding of a couple who’d lived together for three years.

After that, it was Bryan Adams’s “Everything I Do,” from the execrable Kevin Costner version of “Robin Hood.” More recently, I’ve watched a dad walk his daughter in to “Butterfly Kisses,” and maybe I’m just weird but that struck me as a bit strange.

My recommendation? For the songs for lighting of the unity candle, stick with the classics unless bride or groom has enough musical background to venture confidently beyond the Old Reliables without engendering the standard Oh My God reaction in guests.

You can be more adventurous at the reception. I should know. The song my wife picked for our first dance was Dave Edmunds’s “I Knew the Bride (When She Used to Rock and Roll).”

None of my friends blushed.

Hawaii Vacations: So Much to See and Do

by admin on Jun.19, 2009, under Uncategorized

If you are planning a Hawaii vacation you should consider a number of different things. Hawaii is an island chain and each is unique. You’ll see rainforests, vast waterfalls, beautiful beaches, tall mountains, plants and flowers of all colors and varieties, and unique wildlife. Whatever your particular interests, Hawaii will offer you something such as adventure tours, beach relaxing, surfing, mountain hiking, parasailing and more.

Many wedding couples and guests prefer to stay at one of Hawaii’s resorts. Quite a few resorts offer package discounts including hotel room, meals, and a variety of activities; some also have clubs for children, on-site spas and shopping, and their own Hawaii tours. Your friends or travel agents may be able to help you with resorts that they recommend, and many resorts run ads and specials to tell you about their amenities.

Be sure to visit the other islands during your trip. Kauai, for example, is a popular destination. Selecting a Kauai vacation package might be the perfect getaway! Maui is another popular destination, and is the second largest Hawaiian island. Visitors interested in history may choose to travel to Pearl Harbor on Oahu. If you are interested in geology, take a tour of Mauna Kea which is the world’s most active volcano!

Another option to consider is taking a Hawaii cruise. Why stay in a hotel when you can be on the ocean itself? A cruise in Hawaii gives you the opportunity to see many of the islands, and to travel to a wide variety of ports. Stay on board the cruise ship for fine dining and several activities, or travel onto the land itself for biking, hiking, and authentic island cuisine. Several cruise trips are oriented around the family with activities geared for children. Others are romance-based for honeymooners and couples wanting to get away from it all and simply share time together.

Whatever you choose for your Hawaii vacation, your experience will be memorable. After your arrival in the islands, make sure to ask the locals for suggestions and recommendations to make your trip more authentic and enjoyable. Wear sunscreen, take pictures, and most of all, have fun! GreatHawaiiHotels.net offers a wide selection of Big Island hotels, Maui hotel accommodations and Kauai hotel packages.

Produce Residual Income by Learning How to Make Money Blogging

by admin on Jun.19, 2009, under Uncategorized

The make money online niche is an internet marketing playground that is so competitive that very few are able to make it to the first couple pages of the Google SERP’s (i.e. search engine ranking places). The fierce competition can be attributed to the fact that visitors often decide to get in the game after searching for the term, “making money online.”

In addition, because it is such a competitive niche, it becomes sort of a challenge in itself to rank and maintain ranking in the arena to prove themselves to other bloggers and webmasters. People that have made it to the top for a highly desired search term are regarded as experts and rightly so because of the extreme level of competition.

Some of the tools I use and would highly recommend although they will need to be purchased include: SEO Elite and Webcomp Analyzer

The “how to make money blogging” niche is extremely challenging to break into and receive a large amount of organic search traffic. Generating a large amount of “residual income” from this niche is doubtful to say the least. It is my recommendation to start with something a bit easier if you are hoping to make a living from internet marketing in the near future. At bare minimum I would recommend targeting a few other niches at the same time.

If you follow what people are trying to tell you, its easy to be certain that many of them just want you to buy their products but don’t really care whether you succeed or not… Why would they? You will just end up being more internet marketing competition for them right?

The bottom line is that you will have to make a solid business plan and commit a large amount of time and effort to Generate Passive Profits by Learning How to Make Money Blogging.

The General Health Goal of Chiropractics

by admin on Jun.18, 2009, under Uncategorized

The goal of Chiropractic treatment is getting the musculoskeletal system back to the shape in which it is supposed to be. When this happens it allows the nerves and surrounding tissues to follow along and once again retake their natural position.

For those who have lived, for example, with a disjointed spine for a while, this may take a few visits. This is specially true if the tissues and tendons have worked hard to compensate for the misaligned vertebrae for a long period of time. The body’s compensatory actions have to be overcome to return to normal alignment.

It is true that sometimes these adjustments are painful. While not always the case, of course, but when a body has to relearn a proper gait, a way to throw a ball or simply the act of setting one foot in front of the other, the learning curve may be prolonged and at times rather uncomfortable. Yet these treatment moments pale when compared to the many instances where pain is reduced, simply because the body is retrained to function normally.

It is interesting to note that a chiropractor relies so heavily on her or his hands, a sense of balance, and the history received from the patient.

Conventional medical professionals may take into account the patient’s history and then order a battery of tests. But will often disregard the specific complaints of the patient.

A chiropractor, on the other hand, sees the patient as a whole instead of simply an affected limb. As such, any complaint is taken serious, since it may have bearing on other problems the patient may not yet even have experienced.

At your first consultation you will probably find that your chiropractor will take copious notes and perhaps might also ask you to demonstrate certain problems in gait or rate pain on a scale from one to 10. If certain ailments cannot be readily felt or visualized, medical imaging will be ordered simply to help the professional get a good grip on your overall state of musculoskeletal health.

It is important to remember that Chiropractics works best in conjunction with your regular medical treatments.

Bad Economy? Think Outside the Box!

by admin on Jun.18, 2009, under Uncategorized

The economy has given all of us something more to worry about recently. The economic news is mostly bad, homes are being foreclosed on, people are losing their jobs, unemployment is on the rise.

If you are worrying about your house being foreclosed, you can take heart that help seems to be on the way. Banks and mortgage lenders are getting tired of increasing their inventory of unoccupied houses for sale. They are willing to go to extraordinary means to keep existing mortgage-holders in their homes.

Can you imagine how awful you would feel if they changed the rules so that you could keep your house? And this happened two weeks AFTER your home was foreclosed on and lost?

You don’t have to stand by and watch your house be foreclosed. There are many, many things that you could do to prevent it or slow it down significantly. You need to learn the rules, learn what you can do and should do to prevent foreclosure of your home.

Many people are nervous and tense because of the times and the way they have been affected. They need to relieve stress but cannot afford expensive therapies. Are you one of these?

An excellent way to reduce stress is to learn to crochet. Keeping the hands busy in repetitious handiwork is somewhat akin to using a mantra during meditation. It erases the static of worry from the blackboard of the mind and frees the upper part of the mind to relax and see things more clearly.

For many, difficult times means anxiety and putting on weight. You can control your weight economically by using the banana diet. It’s easy, cheap and very effective.

DIY Wedding Invitations Can Save You a Bundle

by admin on Jun.17, 2009, under Uncategorized

We certainly did not pick a good time to get married. With the current economy in recession the way it is, we’re trying really hard and finding it difficult to make ends meet. As you might know, getting married and having a wedding these days can be very expensive. Since my parents are not a traditional type and refuse to pay for my wedding. It is up to my husband and I are covered the entire cost.

As I search for way to cut cost in regards the cost of the wedding. A girlfriend made a wonderful suggestion to me. She told me that if I make my diy wedding invites myself I can save a bundle of money. After doing some research online, that is definitely the truth. If you think about it, each wedding has at least 100 to 500 different guests. And ordering custom invitations can be very expensive. This fancy paper to use, many different colors, not to mention postage stamps. So it all adds up in a very quick way,

I did some research on diy wedding invites. I find that if I head down to my local craft store. I can find all the necessary components of making wedding invitations at a fraction of the cost. And with today’s economy I find that to be very helpful indeed. I have since asked my mother and my sisters to give me a hand in picking the right colors, find a proper paper, and assisting me in the putting together these do-it-yourself wedding invitations. I hope they turn out as well as my big wedding day will.

How To Lose Weight For 2009 Summer

by admin on Jun.17, 2009, under Uncategorized

Disclaimer: This posting is based on information freely available in the popular press and medical journals that deal with weight loss. Nothing herein is intended to be or should be construed to be any sort of doctor’s advice. For medical advice the reader should consult with his or her physician or other medical specialist.

With a brief search online, one will find that there are literally hundreds of weight loss methods being advertised online. It is no wonder that sentences such as “how to get thin” are among the most highly searched in the health/fitness niche. Among the most popular are the products that contain some sort of miracle ingredient from another country, such as the brand new guaranapure. With the acai craze dying down, guarana seems to be aiming for the top of the very same market. Although real experiences are hard to come by, the product seems to be doing extremely well when used with regular diet/exercise.

The acai buzz isn’t all over though. There is a new product that has become extremely hot in the niche. It is called acai berry blast review and it is excellent tasting while helping you shed pounds. It is perfect for the coming summer months to look skinnier and better around other people specifically when wearing a bathing suit.

Lastly, there is a third category of weight loss products that are sweeping the nation by storm known as vegetable cleanses. They apparently work similar to other cleanses but they include the antioxidant powers of vegetables. A new product in this category is called the veggie cleanse review which includes numerous leafy green vegetables that are said to have cleansing properties for the human body.
