Which Winter Footwear To Choose

We no longer have the need to expose our feet, in flip flops and sandals, to the fresh air and sun - because summer is at the end and winter is here. Winter brings with it socks, slippers and perpetual ice blocks at the ends of your legs. Fortunately winter also brings with it new fashions in shoes so that your pins can always look stylish no matter the weather.
Winter 2008 looks to be an eclectic season with ballerina flats, animal prints, and boots, particularly equestrian and biker boots in vogue. Ballerina flats typically have round toes and come in a range on materials and colours. And these animal prints, that come in velvet and metallics, are a big sellers this year. Some variations on the typical flat include a sexy low heel or vamp and ankle ties.
Mary Jane’s are also in fashion, as is the colour red and the shiny patent look. The name Mary Jane is an American term for a strap shoe or sandal that has low heels, broad, rounded and closed toes and a buckle strap across the instep and/or around the ankle. They used to be made primarily of black patent leather. Now you can find them in all kinds of materials, like canvas and suede, and in all colors of rainbow. Mary Jane’s were also primarily known as little girl’s shoes, and only occasionally as shoes for little boys. Now they are also shoes for grown women, although in the case of women they are more informal than they are for children.
The more modern Mary Jane’s have also had heels added to them as well as thick, platform soles. Punk rockers and Goths adopted the shoes in particular, although some others would vamp up the “Lolita” look and wear them with high knit socks and a very short paid, pleated schoolgirl skirt.
Peep-toe shoes are one more trend that will flourish this winter. People who know something about this say that they are not a degree colder than our regular pumps, but I was assured that the feet would simply freeze in one of these.
I hope that you have more ideas now and see all the options you have when it come to shoes for winter. You’ll be perfectly ready for the winter days if you choose what fits your feet and your style.
